MethodsNET: Summer School in Social Research Methods
The newly created global Methods Excellence Network (MethodsNET) is dedicated to world-class PhD-level methods training and methodological pluralism, excellence and innovation (more on us below).
We are excited to announce the first edition of our flagship event, the Summer School in Social Research Methods (20 June-1 July), preceded by the Konstanz Methods Excellence Workshops (10-18 March). Please see below for further details about these unique learning experiences!

32 world-class methods courses – and so much more
This two-week MethodsNET event, hosted by Radboud University, offers a unique training package comprising:
- one-week intensive specialized courses covering the whole range of social science methods, taught by top pedagogues and researchers who provide individual tutoring
- a transversal afternoon program enabling participants to enrich their perspectives
- free supplemental short courses
- tailored advice on choosing courses and a sequence across week 1 and week 2
We have strived to make this event as affordable and accessible as possible. This unique package is made available at 518€ per week (lunches included) with the early bird discount. For participants from partner universities of Radboud University, there is an extra 15% registration fee discount (431€ per week).

Ph.D. level courses in Comparative Case Study Design, Designing observational research for causal inferences, Crowdsourced Text Analysis, Qualitative Comparative Analysis using R, and a basic R introduction will be offered at this year’s Konstanz Methods Excellence Workshop (KOMEX), organized by the University of Konstanz in collaboration with MethodsNET. The courses are designed to provide participants with excellent, inclusive, and affordable methods training and bring the methodological aspects of their research projects to the next level. Some online preparatory workshops will be offered March 10-11.
