ODC-ISEOR 2018 Call for Papers

 

Objectives:

Since 2006, several International Conferences and Doctoral Seminars of the « Organizational Development and Change » Division of the Academy of Management have been organized by ISEOR at University Jean Moulin. They have been very successful and allowed core faculty and Ph.D. students from 25 countries to present 730 papers. In fact, these events allow to highlight the relevance of European and transatlantic cooperation in terms of sharing knowledge and experience in fields such as:

  • Research on change theories and performance assessing methods.
  • Strengthening the links between theory and practice: action-research, intervention-research, “appreciative inquiry” etc.
  • Comparing European and American doctoral programs in the field of organizational development and consulting.
  • Preparing a Ph.D. or a “Doctorate in Business Administration” (DBA) for practitioners

 

Terms of the 2018 conference and doctoral seminar:

Two types of presentations are expected:

  • Communications, conferences, testimonies submitted by core faculty
  • Communications developed by Master’s or Ph.D. students presenting their work in progress

Two prizes will be awarded per language (French, English, Spanish) for the best communications: one to a core faculty and the other to a Ph.D. student provided his/her communication has not been written or co-written by a core faculty holding a doctorate degree.

The best papers of core faculty and Ph.D. students (provided they have been co-written with their research supervisors) will be encouraged to submit their papers to the journal: Recherches en Sciences de Gestion/ Management Sciences/ Ciencias de Gestión.

Conference venue

The conference will be held in Lyon, a city listed in the UNESCO World heritage renowned for its university. It is organized by ISEOR (Center for Research and Expertise in Socio-economic Management) within the University of Lyon, in partnership with several international universities. ISEOR is a state-of-the-art Research Center in Europe, which includes 125 researchers, core faculty and Ph.D. students from all over the world. ISEOR has already organized several conferences in partnership with the Academy of Management (United States) in Lyon: in 2001 and 2014 with the Management Consulting Division; in 2004, 2007, 2011 and in 2015 with the Research Methods Division; in 2005 with the Social Issues in Management Division; in 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016 with the Organization Development and Change Division; in 2009 with the Social Issues in Management, Organization Development and Change, Research Methods Divisions, Organizations and the Natural Environment, Management Consulting, Practice Theme Committee.

 

Venue:

ISEOR, Magellan, iaelyon School of Management, University Jean Moulin, is a research team who welcomes Ph.D. students in the fields of socio-economic management and change management. Lyon is located in Europe and is an important center for Research in management (See: www.lyon-france.com).

 

Deadlines for submissions: please send a summary (maximum 4, 500 characters) before December 30th, 2017. Submissions of complete papers (15 pages or maximum 40, 000 characters – (including spaces)) in French, English or Spanish must be made by January 31, 2018

 

Submission standards:

Microsoft Word, Times New Roman, 10 points, single spacing, left margin at 2.3 cm, right margin at 4.4 cm, top at 2.5 cm and bottom at 3 cm. Portrait orientation only. View facing pages for the whole document. B5 paper size: 18.2 cm width and 25.7 cm height with headers at 0 cm and footers at 2 cm. Subheadings should be bolded on a separate line, aligned left and upper case.

The 1st page of each submission should be presented as follows on a SEPARATE page from the body of the text:  TITLE of the paper, TYPE: core faculty, Ph.D. student or practitioner preparing a doctorate, name of the PERSON TO BE CONTACTED: choose a contact person. Indicate the LIST of the name of authors, in the desired order. Provide DETAILS for each author (including, name, affiliation, function of each author, address, telephone number, fax number, email address)

(  ) Papers should be preceded by a SUMMARY of around ten lines maximum and 5 key words.

Participation fees:

- Students and Ph.D. students: 130 € including registration and minutes (USB key)

- Core faculty and professional participants: 390 € including registration, minutes (USB key), lunches and gala dinner.
